How to Choose Wallpaper Material and Warranty for Each Room

Instead of choosing by "D" numbers, choose wallpaper by two things: the material and the warranty. Here is how to match them to each room.
How price works
Price is per square foot of wall. Better materials and longer warranties cost more per sq ft. Multiply your wall width by height (in feet) to get the area; our design pages calculate the total for you.
Room by room
- Rented flat or short-term use: an entry material with a shorter warranty keeps cost low.
- Kids room: a durable, washable material with a mid-range warranty; you may change the theme in a few years.
- Living room feature wall: a textured premium material looks rich and lasts.
- Master bedroom: a calm premium design with a long warranty.
- Offices, hotels and showrooms: top-range materials with the longest warranty for high-traffic walls.
- Coastal and Malnad homes: choose a waterproof option and install on a dry wall.
Wall preparation
Your wall must be oil-primed, clean, dry and smooth, with no dust, grease or loose paint.
Walls with seepage: not recommended
Wallpaper needs a dry, sound wall. We do not recommend wallpaper on walls with seepage or damp, and the warranty does not cover walls with seepage, dampness or peeling paint. Fix the leak first and let the wall dry fully; see our waterproofing guide.
